My Passion is...

This week, Daniel and I checked out the HΓ€agen-Dazs pop-up bar!!! When I was younger, I swear I saw light and sparkles emitting from their mini ice cream tubs. My dad wasn't able to justify buying it for me though, especially when he can get a bigger and cheaper tub of Breyers neapolitan! πŸ˜‚

So when I saw photos of their decorated ice cream bars flooding my Instagram feed this summer, my inner child was so fricken excited to check it out! (This post is not sponsored by the way!)

Daniel and I started off with their popular ice cream bars! I couldn't get over how aesthetically pleasing it was. It just looked so good against so many backdrops!! Here's a photo of it in front of a pot of plant.

Here's another pic of it in front of me. And anotha one beside Dan! You see what I'm sayyyyang?!?! πŸ˜€

It didn't look that good when I was inhaling it though. That's me signalling to Dan to just give it up because he wasn't gonna get a cute shot outta me at this state.

Daniel was so ready to leave after he was done his ice cream bar because it was just too sweet for him to handle. I thought that was reasonable because how many more sweets does he need ...when he's already sweet enough.. Heh heh!! I can imagine my sister shivering at what I just said. LOL!

I told him that we couldn't leave until we had their flight menu! You basically get five different flavours to try and then you choose your favourite flavour that you would like a scoop of! I was so happy that it came sandwiched between a macaron because I was actually conflicted on ordering that or the ice cream bar in the beginning!

It's funny how Dan wanted to leave early, but ended up paying this last dessert for us! πŸ˜‚ If you guys are interested in checking this place out, they're only here until this Saturday! Also, I will be posting about my vacation sometime next week! Sorry for being so late with that!!! Daniel and I keep forgetting to exchange memory cards with each other! GRRRRrr!!! UGH! ARGH!

Chocolate Making Workshop

Back in 2013, I did a chocolate making workshop with Thiya and Joy! I remembered I had so much fun doing it that I figured Daniel would be into it too ...because who doesn't like chocolate?!?! πŸ˜€  I totally forgot that I had bought tickets for last Friday's time slot, but I'm so glad I did! It gave us something to look forward to, since we were still a little bummed that our vacation ended so soon.

When we arrived at the cafΓ©, Daniel was so excited and had so many questions for me! He kept asking me what the purpose of each tool on the table was, but I couldn't recall much from the first time I did it. All I really remembered was decorating a bunch of truffles!! πŸ˜‚

The chocolatier started with a brief history on chocolate, let us taste test her creations, and had us design a molten lava cake! Afterwards, we were all given a slab of ganache to cut out our truffles with.

The highlight of this workshop was definitely decorating all of these truffles! Daniel was so proud of his creations and thought he was being so creative when he decided to stack his little truffle ball on top of his chocolate covered marshmallow??? πŸ˜„

He did have some cute creations though the one with a smiley face and the one with the first letter of our names combined. πŸ˜€

To be honest, I think that the name of this workshop is a little bit deceiving because it was more like chocolate decorating than chocolate "making." Nonetheless, we both had a lot of fun!!! πŸ’•  If you're interested, make sure you use the Groupon for 55% off!!!!

Yesterday, Daniel and I skipped out on the night market because one of our friends invited us over for a BBQ! Free food, no lines and smaller crowd? Sounds like a better plan to me!!! πŸ˜„ Although I didn't get to have the taro chips that I was looking forward to, I realized that I can get it at a pokΓ© place any time! That reminds me... I still haven't blogged about the last pokΓ© spot that I checked out with my homie, Cody!

Last month, Cody and I went to SU&BU after work! I've been wanting to try their sushi burgers for some time now. Unfortunately, they don't offer it on their menu anymore, so I went for their classic Fish PokΓ© bowl instead. It was alright. I honestly feel like North Poke and Pokeh has set sucha high bar for me. πŸ˜‚

After dinner, we decided to go to Kensington Market to explore. As we were on our way, we came across Michaels ...and ended up spending two hours in there! Cody walked out with a new tiny pot that he bought for his boyfriend's succulent. Just when we were about to head home, we walked by a convenience store and noticed their succulents in their window display! My friend is actually a sucker for these plants. This guy owns like 48 of them! With that said, we had to go in there because he was curious to see what they had in stock.

I ended up buying one for Daniel and Cody bought one for himself. I was going to get one for myself, but I remembered that I don't really have a green thumb... We walked back to Michaels afterwards to buy more tiny pots for these new plants. πŸ˜‚ I told Daniel that he should name his plant Cashmere, but he decided to go with Spikey... boring!!!!!

Tornado Potato

My supervisor went over to my sister's department to do some filming today and let me tag along too! I still find it so cool how we work for the same company. No you guys, she didn't get me my internship!! It would be cool if she got me a permanent position once I graduate though! I spent two hours over there, so my lunch break got pushed back a bit.

I just ate my veggie pattie really quickly because I wanted to use my lunch break to do some blogging. I find that I tend to get lazy once I get home, which is why I have been very inconsistent with my posts. After sitting at the computer at work all day, the last thing I wanna do is sit on the computer at home. I realized now that I could've been more productive during my breaks...

Without further ado, let's just jump right in! For the last weekend in June, Daniel and I checked out a food festival, Taste of Asia! Since I was hangry the last time we went, we made sure that I didn't attend on an empty stomach again. πŸ˜„  We arrived during peak hours, so the lines were pretty long. Luckily, we were still able to try everything we wanted to! I really enjoyed this twisted potato thingy that we had and didn't expect it to be so easy to eat! I didn't like this milky drink (pictured above) that Daniel ordered though. It was a good thing that he liked it, so that it didn't have to go to waste!

We can't go to a night market without ordering takoyaki octopus balls! We actually devoured these pretty quick. πŸ˜„  While I was lining up for mango nitrogen ice cream, we bumped into a few of Daniel's friends!

The great thing about going with more people, for a place like this, is that you can have different people lining up for different things ...which means DOUBLE THE FOOD to try!!!!! Daniel was able to split all of his meaty dishes with his friends, since I couldn't really help him out. πŸ˜„

He also brought along his drone that night and was able to get a sweet shot of the event! I always feel so cool whenever I'm hanging around him and he bust out this gadget. πŸ˜„

We'll be attending another night market this weekend!! I really hope there's a vendor that sells twisted taro because I always love eating those little chippies in my pokΓ© bowls!

I'm back!

I have so many things to share with you guys that I don't even know where to start! I just spent one week in Punta Cana for Daniel's sister's wedding and I didn't realize how much I needed that vacation. It was so nice to get away from everything and enjoy life at my own pace. Now that I'm back, it's really hard to shake off these post-vacation blues. 😩  I feel like the only way to get over this trip is to plan another one!!!!

I'm currently saving up to buy my sister's car though, which means I gotta hold off on any travel plans for now. But seriously, can you guys imagine ME driving? 'Cause I can't!!! I'm pretty sure Daniel is way more excited than I am because I'll finally be driving him around! πŸ˜„

Before I dive right in and tell you guys all about my vacation, I remembered I still have some catching up to do on here. Let's be real though, WHEN DO I NOT...

In the meantime, you guys can creep my Instagram for exclusive photos from my trip! 😘
