While we were playing Mafia last Friday night at Pat's house, Joy whispered to me across the table and asked me if I was free next Friday! I told her I might be busy in the evening but she told me it's fine,

as long as I'm free during the day because she wanted to invite me to go to the zoo with her siblings!!! I WAS SO EXCITED.

I was born and raised in Toronto and I don't think I've ever visited our zoo when I was younger! Joy claimed that we went in grade one for a school trip?!?!?! I don't know?!?!? Where was I??!?!?

Well... I never really had a good memory to start with - maybe that's one of the reasons I'm happy most of the time!! Hahaha

It was expected to rain on that side of the town for the day, but that didn't stop us from walking around outside and seeing all these cool things!!!

Dory.. is.. is that you?

Look at them watching the giraffe's bum...

judgin' you!!! Hahaha

Joy also invited Sonja - she's just so lovable, down to earth and cute!! :-)

I just realized now that we checked out the cool stuff inside when it was sunny and for some reason... once we stepped out... it started to rain!

Lucky for us, most people ran inside when it started to pour...

which gave me a great spot for photos!

They also have a Panda exhibit happening this week but I'm not gonna lie... it wasn't worth the long wait to see two pandas through a glass. The gift shop was more worth it!

I was hoping to get a perfect shot of one of these monkeys/apes/gorillas' funny-looking bums! Hahaha!

SO FLUFFY!!!

That was Joy's little brother favourite exhibit... and here comes mine...

So pretty!!!! I was completely intrigued by all the beauty!

Oh! I can't forget, I tried Beaver Tails for the first time too! I remember how I always saw these booths at Wonderland and yeah... I judged the food by the name. :-)

I realized now it's simply a deep-fried pastry ...that pretty much resembles a donut! It was so good but a tad bit too sweet. I think I'll opt for their signature one next time!

Joy's older sister actually split from us when we arrived there and hung out with her friend while we did our own thang! She met up with us just in time when I was dying from my overly sweet pastry and helped me finished the rest! Wooo!!! We shared the images and sights we saw

and once she told us she never saw the butterfly exhibit yet...

I WAS SO EXCITED TO GO BACK!
(The photo above is my absolute favourite.)

The night ended perfectly with dinner at the new renovated Pickel Barrel at Yorkdale! Thanks so much for a memorable day, Joycelyn!!!

Now I feel like I've filled that missing gap from my childhood. :-)
