Happy Birthday, Daniel!

Last Thursday, I took my boyfriend out for his 22nd birthday!!! I made a reservation at the restaurant that Drake celebrated his birthday at last year, Bent! The service and food was amazinggg! The highlight of our three course meal was definitely the Singaporean-Style slaw! I would definitely go back and order that again. I also got Daniel his very own bowling ball this year! He initially wanted to put ma face on it but I suggested that we DON'T do that because I don't want him ruining the ball if we ever get into a fight! LOL

All of his friends think I put a magnet in his bowling ball because he's now scoring 50-75 more points than he used to!!! To be honest, I just think ma baby is getting better at the game and da ball has nuttin to do with it. ;)

One Year

I don't think I've shared the story, on my blog, of how my boyfriend and I first met! Long story short, I met Daniel last summer while working at the CN Tower. I still remember the first words he said to me was, "You have a nice smile," and I thanked him and ran off to work. We barely got to know each other since we worked at different stations and he eventually quit two months later. Once he left, he started messaging me on Facebook and was very persistent on getting a date with me! After making a lot of excuses of how I'm really busy, I decided to give him a chance.

When Daniel and I first started going out, I really thought it was bad timing. I kept thinking of so many reasons why this relationship just wouldn't work out, while he kept convincing me that it can. A few months later, he has become my bestest friend and supporter. There were so many moments where I would just cry in his car because I missed my grandma a lot or I didn't know which direction I was going with my career. And he usually knew what to say to make me feel better. :)

To celebrate our one year anniversary last Sunday, he took me to a fancy sushi place! Since it wasn't all-you-can-eat, I found that I was really savouring each piece of sushi. Plus, the fish names and prices they have listed on their menu made me curious to see what was so great about their place!??! Daniel and I were pretty much food critics that night and actually enjoyed this place a lot!!!

After dinner, we exchanged our gifts in his car. I read him the cheesy card I made him, where I thanked him for a bunch of things ..like screenshotting my embarrassing Snapchat selfies and using them cleverly, like memes, in our convos. I also had him open my gift first!!

I got him a leather wallet and placed his favourite polaroid of us (from Halloween) inside. I remember him asking me, after the party, if he could keep it and I told him that he needed a new wallet before he can keep this precious photo of us in there. Little did he know... that's what I got for him!! Heh heh ;)

He made me a bouquet of fake flowers (and said that real flowers will die that's why ahahaha) and a marble case for my laptop! He was so surprised at how content I was with the gifts he got for me because he didn't think I'd react that way! Like boyyy... I told you that I don't mind dating a Splenda daddy!!! He told me that he actually had one more thing for me and handed me a teal coloured bag... and now I have this cute bracelet on me 24/7!!

I'm so excited to renew this one year subscription with him!!

Meet My Cousin

My cousin from Vietnam is now living with my family, while she finishes grade 12 at a private school. She arrived on Friday morning and was in for a big culture shock!! She has never seen so many leaves falling off the trees, so many cars on the road and so many different ethnicities! She was also surprised that this wasn't the coldest temperature Toronto has to offer. It's so funny how she thought 10 degrees was really cold... like gurrrl wait until the snow starts falling! Speaking of that, I can't wait for her to see and touch snow for the first time!!!

My cousins, boyfriend and I took her out to eat a lot this weekend! She loved all the food she was exposed to (except ketchup chips ..what) and told me that Vietnam doesn't offer as much variety as here! She also had no idea how spicy Chipotle can make your meal and how big the ice cream waffles are when you ask for it! Daniel and I took her out shopping yesterday and she was so overwhelmed with all the clothing stores and different styles that were here. She told me that she noticed how people in Toronto dress very minimal, while people in Vietnam try really hard to stand out and be different.

I just realized I still have a lot of time to show her around our city, since she's planning to stay here for university!!

I joined Daniel for halloween this year and we had matching costumes again! We initially thought that being a pair of boobs would be a funny costume. Once it was time to actually construct our costume, we started second guessing our idea. We visited a few stores and noticed that a lot of costumes were overpriced... considering that we'll only be wearing it for one night y'know?!?! We decided to go back to our original idea and it turned out to be a great hit after all!!! Here are a few Polaroid pics from Saturday night!

I've totally gained a lot of respect for pregnant mamas after carrying around a huge balloon most of the night (before changing into Daniel's jerseys) and thing is, the weight of my balloon does not even compare to the weight of a child! You go birth givers!!!!!
