Despite everything that has happened this year, I'm so thankful that I got to spend more time with my childhood friends this summer. It was difficult trying to find a date that worked for all of us back then that we ended up seeing each other only twice a year, sooo.... I guess you can say that this pandemic brought us six feet closer. 😏

We felt like it was still too soon to book a getaway for this past long weekend, so we had a sleepover at Joy's place instead. The next day, we checked out Hilton Falls Conservation Area in hopes of getting close to a waterfall.

We ended up being behind schedule, taking the wrong hiking path, and stumbling upon a lake that we didn't intend to see.

On the bright side, this view ended up being wayyy better than the waterfall!! Everything really does happen for a reason! 😁

After our hike, we grabbed an early dinner and checked out the Royal Botanical Gardens. It was slightly underwhelming to be honest, because the sky was dreary, a lot of the plants were dead and parts of the venue was closed. It did have a better waterfall though!! 😄 We actually had way more fun taking selfies.

We ended our evening with dessert from Snowies Bingsu and catching the last quarter of the Raptors' game. According to the health app in Thiya and Joy's phones, we walked 16,000+ steps that day and I definitely felt it in my legs the next day!

Sometimes I wonder if my younger self would be proud of the person that I am today. What I do know for sure is that she would be ecstatic to know that she is still close with her childhood friends after all these years. 😌
