The Envelope

I work as a receptionist for my part-time job and when patients pay, they usually ask me...

what I'm studying in school! I would tell them I'm heading to University next year and then their following question would be, "Oh! What are you planning to study?"

A lot of my friends have been asking me that question too and thing is...

I haven't really given people an answer because I have been waiting to get accepted into my first choice... so I have either been telling people what I hope to get into ...or I just simply tell them my second choice to make it easier!

The program I was waiting to get into is really competitive and not only is it competitive to get in... it's even more competitive to get a job!!! People are telling me I should give up on that dream but I can't! If you knew me, you would know that I have been chasing this dream since I was six years old.

There were many people who doubted I would be able to get in... like my teachers and ...my parents. I don't think they're bad people for that though because realistically, I only had a 10% chance with the amount of applicants they got!

Although the older people doubted me... they reassured me that I could always apply again next year or after I earn my other bachelor degree... even though it would be even more competitive!

I mean, I know they're not trying to turn me down, they're just giving me the honest truth. I accepted the fact that I would not even have a chance either! My close friends continued to have faith that I would... even when I didn't have it for myself!!! Hahaha

After waiting for two months, I came home today after school and received the letter I have been dreading for! Before I unfolded the paper, I was already imagining the text I would read. With that being said, here's my definite answer of what I will be studying next year!

After opening the letter...

I IMMEDIATELY ACCEPTED THEIR OFFER INTO THE CONCURRENT PROGRAM!!!!!!! OH. MY. GOD. I actually got accepted!!!

I shed a tear because I was -- I AM SO HAPPY! This means that I will be completing my bachelor of education degree while earning a degree for their Digital Media program!!!!! After studying for five years, I will finish with two degrees!
